Description:

  • The Applications Architect is responsible for large projects with multiple systems, the application architect is responsible for aligning technology solutions with business strategies, working primarily with management and technical specialists across functional disciplines.
  • Participates in the development of the Abbott infrastructure and understands the impact and needs of the applications.
  • Supports the application and technical specialists in the multi-system application architecture and has a thorough understanding of available technology, tools and existing designs for the applications involved and the impact upon each other.

Duties:

  • Leads teams consisting of other functional groups within the Abbott IT organization to establish technical strategies and the tactical plans to be positioned for the current and future needs of the business.
  • Evaluates application system needs across multiple systems and develops corresponding application and logical data architectures and standards.
  • Provides strategic consultancy support to clients, Senior Application Technical Specialists and other technical architects in all aspects of enabling technologies to meet business needs.
  • Provides expertise on application architecture design or improvement.
  • Considers the performance impact of the architecture.
  • Collaborates with hardware, network and database architects to research new technologies and make recommendations to management on these new technologies at Abbott.
  • Facilitates the purchase and introduction of new technologies. Communicates and educates the technical and business communities on current architectures and technologies and industry trends.
  • Performs technical oversight of implementation projects to assure alignment with architecture and technology standards.
  • Collaborates with the hardware, network and database architects in application design and implementation.
  • Responsible for overall compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.
  • Coaches others on compliance and procedures.
  • Works closely with product vendors ensuring strategic and architectural fit, and ability of product to scale in order to meet Abbott requirements.

Required:

  • Bachelors Degree/13 + years relevant experience including 3+ years as Application Architect. Masters  Degree preferred.

Additional Info:

  • Position is for ADMS ERP Upgrade for Core Dx.
  • The application is Oracle e-Business Suite Candidate with comprehensive knowledge in the Oracle ERP Suite Manufacturing Modules to include BOM, INV, WIP, PO, OM, WMS, Cost/GL, ENG covering application administration, configuration and customization.
  • In depth understanding of the Oracle ebs environment, database and application architecture for upgrade from release 12.1 to 12.2.X.
  • Candidate should provide ongoing day-to-day support, support projects and e-Business upgrade from 12.1 to 12.2.x.
  • Responsibilities include working with technical staff for infrastructure, system administrators, development/test teams and Business Subject Matter Experts.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical and business support for day-to-day operations of the Oracle e-Business Suite Engage as architect/technical deliverables for upgrade from 12.1 to 12.2
  • Provides leadership in developing the organization’s technical staff.
  • Collaborate and partner with Project Management Teams
  • Individual should be able to work with technical and business teams
  • Investigate issues using tools such as TOAD for troubleshooting Experience with Run-My-Jobs (RMJ), HP Quality Center, Loftware and PC Reveal is beneficial.
