Description:

  • The Sr Business Analyst (BA) is a strategic problem solver essential for the success of the Technology Operations department.
  • You will work closely with other Technology Teams to streamline work intake, analyze processes, create and maintain metrics needed to measure success, facilitate solution design, and ensure business objectives are met.
  • They will be responsible for translating requests from technology partners into user stories and acceptance criteria and ensuring work is executed at an efficient and effective pace.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize requests from Technology Stakeholders in the Technology Operations backlogs
  • Work closely with the Project Manager to translate, simplify, and collaborate on business requirements with all required stakeholders
  • Discover, organize, and clarify specifications for new projects, new ticket requests
  • Work with Technical Leads in Technology Operations and Application Development to ensure solutions fulfill specifications
  • Evaluate business processes and lead solution definition (workflow, technology, data, etc.) to support business goals and initiatives.
  • Analyze business processes using system data, generate metric tracking to validate success
  • Design and maintain Dashboards.
  • Developing and maturing relationships with the technology partners across the Technology division.
  • Contributes to the development of tools, templates, and methods.
  • Collaborate with peers to develop a customized business analysis approach, defining the business analysis tasks, resources, and estimated effort to complete an initiative.
  • Communicate the approach and work with stakeholders to modify and ultimately gain approval for the analysis activities.
  • Owner of the team backlog
  • Maintain the health of the Technology Operations backlog of work including clean-up.
  • Manage backlog grooming and collaboration across Technology Stakeholders.
  • Work as the liaison among stakeholders to elicit, analyze, communicate and validate requirements for changes to business processes, data, policies, and information systems.
  • Quickly understand business problems and opportunities in the context of the requirements and analyze and present solution options.
  • Leverage and continually mature interview and facilitation techniques to elicit business needs and requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree Preferred
  • College degree in Business, Communication, Information, Technology, or another related field or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years’ experience as a Business Analyst preferred
  • Working knowledge of Agile and Waterfall Methodologies
  • Command of Business Analysis core techniques: modeling, use cases/user stories, facilitation.
  • Ability to facilitate medium to large sessions with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Strong computer skills to include proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of software applications including Visio
  • Self-motivated/independent/resourceful
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong analytical & problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Effectively deals with ambiguity
  • Organizational skills, to work with the vast array of information gathered during elicitation and analysis and to cope with rapidly changing information
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Demonstrates a broad knowledge of a business area and its stakeholders to identify and communicate how IT solutions can assist.
  • Has a developing understanding of how business processes and workflows fulfill the business area’s business strategy.
  • Adept and effective meeting facilitator
  • Experience with Atlassian toolset (Jira and Confluence) is preferred
  • Experience with ServiceNow toolset (ITSM) is preferred
  • Demonstrated written and oral communication skills are preferred
