Skills and Abilities
  • Experience leading and managing software development teams in a modern, Agile development environment, teams up to 12 members
  • Experience should include people management/leadership (5+ years) as well as experience as a developer / tech lead (5+ years)
  • Excellent communication and listening skills with developers and leaders up to VP level
  • Provide input and insights into strategies for product, modernization and team structure
  • Scrum master with experience helping teams to remove roadblocks, organize ideas into action and be highly productive
  • Drive change and lead others through ambiguity
  • Use and refine processes and practices to ensure consistent productivity
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to multi-task
  • Ability to perform varied roles including Manager, Project Manager, Business Analyst and Scrum Master

Responsibilities
  • Manager for 2-3 teams of engineers, 10-12 direct reports
  • They are the main non-engineer on the team, so they do play a role of ensuring things are moving and removing barriers.
  • Lead engineer teams through development lifecycle – definition, development, implementation, support
  • Ensure team is engaged and productive
  • Champion Agile practices, lead sprint planning, refine processes
  • Support, enable and mentor engineers
  • Ensure products are stable and supported, facilitate oncall process and be a point of escalation
