Job Description:

Project Overview:

  • This project is for new Life Insurance policies. It will enable policy applicants to submit their personal history information to Company electronically.
  • Today the only option in place is a phone interview by a representative from Company.
  •  This option will be enabled across several electronic application systems and will be integrated with the ID3 and ALIP admin systems. The business analyst will be working with both outside vendors and internal team members.  

Team & Responsibilities:

  • The business analyst will be working with a large team of highly technical IT and business staff to define and validate requirements to enable the electronic gathering of personal history information needed for Life insurance applications. 
  • The project team will be fast paced with demanding stakeholders, and will require a business analyst who can collaboratively, but independently own and drive their SDLC deliverables—comprehensive stakeholder analysis and impact assessment, gap analysis, functional and non-functional requirements, UAT / test planning and execution, defect management, production validation planning and execution.

Team Makeup:

  • Project Sponsor, Project Manager, Enterprise Architect, Project Architect, Business Analyst, Developer(s), Quality Assurance, Subject Matter Experts, etc.

  • Strong soft skills and can communicate effectively at all levels (e.g., project team to executive sponsors)

  • Strong technical aptitude
  • Self-motivator / driver
  • Operates with a high degree of urgency and proactively addresses open questions and risks
  • Customer-oriented
  • Maintains a solution focus, facilitating “here’s how we can” versus “here’s why we can’t” mindset
  • 10 years business analysis experience
  • Experience working with life insurance and annuity products strongly preferred
  • Proficiency with Jira or Polarion desired
