The Industrial Design Project Coordinator will be the conduit between Industrial Design, Product Management, and Engineering. Responsible for collaborating with the leaders of each function to establish and track a development schedule for the Industrial Design phase of the project.
Industrial Design is a centralized function for the organization so the the projects could support any of the Clients Divisions: Off-road, On-road, Snowmobile and Aftermarket / Acquisitions.
A Project Coordinator is responsible for:
Utilizing the Development Process (PDP) to help define, guide and document Industrial Design project schedules, cost, quality, and performance requirements.
Determine and solve utilization / resource constraints based on upcoming projects and prioritization.
Guide a team of Industrial Designers & Surface Modelers through team meetings, task management, and prioritization.
Participate in and/or present at reviews to ensure adequate input and involvement from all engineering and functional groups, and to report on major milestones and project status.
Monitor and manage project purchased resources or services as appropriate per the project budget. Collaborate with external resources to use their design expertise where appropriate.
Other duties and projects as assigned.
Duties:
80% - Define and document project schedules, cost, quality, and performance requirements.
20% - Lead reviews and product development team meetings.
Skills, Knowledge, & Experience:
2+ years of project leadership or design leadership experience in related industry.
High School diploma or GED equivalency required, Associates Degree or Bachelors preferred.
Experience with Microsoft programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
Excellent communication, organizational and time management skills.
Proven strength in working effectively cross-functionally and independently as a leader.
Powersports riding experience or interests in powersports vehicles is a plus.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Team-based, collaborative, fast-paced, office / studio environment
Some travel around Southern CA locations, and Medina, MN as needed.
Standard business hours (8am-5pm) with some flexibility in afternoons if an early meeting is scheduled (to meet with the team on central time).
