Job Description:

Primary Function / Primary Goals / Objectives:

  • Subject matter expert of R&D label documentation, striving for consistency and accuracy of source information and data formatting.
  • Execute responsibilities as defined in the Label Process
    • Collect all Label Information Packet (LIP) cover memo, reference information, Bill of
    • Materials, ingredient list, nutrient panel and supporting documentation from Product
    • Developers and initiate DRAFT review.
    • Notify LIP reviewers (Product Developers, Nutrition Science, Quality Assurance,
    • Regulatory Affairs, Flavor Technology, Patent Attorney, and Kosher/Halal Specialist) of document review timeline.
    • Collect all changes from the DRAFT review and coordinate revisions to LIP source document(s).
    • Audit consistency and accuracy of collected source data and/or previously approved data (approved label proof).
    • Submission of final electronic DRAFT (pdf) and summary of all changes made from
    • DRAFT review to LIP reviewers (Product Developers, QA, Nutrition Science, Regulatory) for final review.
    • Route electronic version of LIP for digital approval.
    • Electronically upload signed LIP to repository as well as e-mail issuance to crossfunctional team.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Liaison with cross-functional teams to gather required information for LIP completion.
  • Responsible for coordinating efforts of cross-functional departments to develop, review, finalize and issue R&D Label source documentation in support of label changes or new product launches.
  • Perform audit function (consistency, accuracy, and formatting) for R&D source data.
  • Provide on-going training to cross-functional experts and team members on standards & formats of R&D Label documentation.
  • Adhere to project timeline and follow-up with functional expert team members to ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Work directly with Product Developer to resolve issues that impact completion of project objectives.
  • Complete maintenance & tracking of R&D information for use by R&D and non-R&D Division personnel.
  • Maintain functional area of expertise (R&D).
  • Drive for results and timely decision-making.
  • Provide continual improvements to and direction for the R&D label development.
  • Provide file maintenance for post issuance LIP documentation.
  • Develop and refine Label Process SOP.
  • Assist in the monitoring/assessment of process metrics.
  • Provide support on special assignments with cross-functional teams to assist with career
  • development opportunities.

Education:

  • Minimum Bachelor of Science or equivalent experience.

Background:

  • Understanding of Federal Labeling Regulations. Understanding of relevant methodologies, processes and
  • standards within cross-functional areas (i.e., Regulatory, Medical, QA, Marketing, Labeling).
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively execute a significant roster of projects and deliver on timing and quality expectations.

Accountability / Scope / Budget:

  • Responsible for project’s commitment to quality (consistency & accuracy of source data).
  • Projects will include new products, new manufacturing processes, new packages, line extensions reformulations and plant transfer.
  • Understand organizational impact of project issues and engage Sr. Project Manager, as necessary
