Projects the candidate will be working on:
- System Administrator acts as principal technical resource in engineering of the Facets Community and State environments.
- Provides maintenance, monitoring and optimization on distributive systems, cloud based solutions, database management and application server operations.
- Researches and evaluates alternatives and recommends solutions for system design.
- Support users with problem resolution; consult and advise on application design and tuning; plan, organize and execute product benchmarks for capacity threshold and functionality.
- Performs capacity planning, system maintenance, platform upgrades, technology enhancements and automation of all manual tasks.
Experience:
- Experience with all technologies we support. Including SDLC/Code delivery.
- Someone who has experience with most of the technologies we support.
Top Requirements:
- 3+ years Systems/Network administration experience on Windows Server platforms.
- Experience with Linux or Unix operating systems
- Solid experience working with cloud and container technologies. (Azure, Docker, Kubernetes)
Team and Team size:
- 18 members distributed across the US and in India comprised of Systems Administrators & DevOps Engineers and Software Developers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide maintenance, monitoring and optimization on systems, applications and products.
- Install, configure, upgrade, patch Windows and Linux servers.
- Provision / DCOM physical and virtual servers as needed.
- Perform troubleshooting to isolate, diagnose, and resolve issues.
- Evaluate new tools, techniques, and strategies, as part of continuous modernization initiatives.
- Maintain vendor relationships with application providers. Maintain software updates.
- Ensure that system hardware, operating systems, and related procedures comply with standards and security requirements.
- Support backup infrastructure to ensure data-protection goals are met. Provide backup and recovery services.
- Identify/provide automated approaches for system administration tasks.
- Recommend and implement system enhancements that will improve the performance and reliability of the infrastructure.
- Maintain internal documentation for team cross-training purposes
Position Requirements
- Expert knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and the MS Office Suite
- Linux and or Unix knowledge
- 3+ years Systems/Network administration experience on Windows Server platforms
- Solid experience working with cloud and container technologies. (Azure, Docker, Kubernetes)
- Strong experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Powershell, Chef, Jenkins & Terraform.
- Familiarity with Continuous Integration tools such as Github, Digital AI (XL Release)
- Willingness to take initiative as well as learn new technologies.
- Creative approach to problem solving and exceptional analytical skills.
- Must have strong self-management skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
