The purpose of this role is to manage one or more Agile teams to ensure effective application of the Agile best practices and Agile framework to the project/product team backlog execution. Facilitate team ceremonies and recommend improvements to increase team efficiency. Partner with Product Owner to ensure road maps align with backlog and release plan.

  • Manage  Agile teams by providing effective collaboration, facilitation, leadership and coaching to support the teams with the agile development process and the delivery of product teams. Organize and facilitate Backlog Grooming, Collaboration Charter, Daily Scrum, Sprint Planning, Sprint Re-views, Release planning and Retrospectives.
  • Provide leadership and conflict resolution for Agile team members and cross commit partners to ensure business product deliverables are met. Help coach team members on best Agile practices and problem-solving using Agile principles. Remove impediments and identify potential process improvements to help team deliver at a higher level.
  • Coach Product Owners to develop, manage, and continuously groom the team’s product backlog. Partner with Product Owner to pull information for team velocity and sprint/release progress on initiatives, so that informed decisions can be made around prioritization of backlog. Assist Product Owner with reporting for how the initiatives are going pertaining to product roadmap.
  • Work effectively with business partners, vendors, technology and Scrum Master peers to develop Agile charter and ensure agreement/adoption of product/pro-ject working agreements and goals for team. Utilize all members to help identify potential work for the product backlog for the project/product team
  • Analyze team processes and utilize team retros to coach best practices, so teams can be more efficient and effective. Keep looking for potential improvement to help team move faster and more efficiently.
  • 5 + years of relevant experience.
  • Expert level understanding of Agile processes and tools.
  • Acting as Scrum Master for a Portfolio and/or leading a team of ScrumMasters.
  • Maintain industry knowledge and assist with Agile organizational change conversations
  • Oversight.
  • Ability to demonstrate self-sufficiency with leading a successful Agile Product Team.
  • Demonstrated focus on relationships and partnership to drive results not authority driven results.
  • Strong Agile knowledge and ability to have difficult conversations.
  • Comfortable and experience with Agile transformation and hard conversations with leaders. 
  • Ability to lead more than one team and maintain great relationships with POs.
  • Ability to lead, onboard, train and mentor new ScrumMasters.
  • Support/Lead Agile Transformation conversations.
  • Ability to demonstrate self-sufficiency with leading a successful Agile Product Team.

  • Quantitative & Analytical Skills:
  • Ability to quickly shift through concepts and drill down into actionable steps.
  • Objective decision-making ability, strong analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Software & Technology:
  • Expert level expertise. Ability to train others and influence organizational roadmaps for Agile tools. (Jira, Confluence, etc.)
  • Provides clear concise communication with Agile Product team and all stakeholders. 
  • Ability to effectively communicate across multiple levels (Executive Sponsors to team members).
  • Proven ability to lead a diverse group towards resolution when faced with ambiguous situations. 
  • Ability to think strategically and effectively lead, influence, communicate and interact with people of all levels across the organization, including external partners as required. 
  • Typically responsible for a Portfolio of Teams and leads other ScrumMasters.
  • BS degree in relevant field
  • Agile Certification

  • a. Deep business domain experience in Ameriprise Secure Client and Public websites.
  • b. Strong network in the local Agile community and industry.
