- This Intermediate Project Manager is accountable for supporting the on-time, on-budget delivery of Natural Gas Operations projects to support client’s Gas Business Unit under the direction of the project leadership.
- The Intermediate PM works directly supporting project Senior Project Managers and Program Manager on the project and may independently manage sub-projects.
- Responsibilities include project scheduling, task planning, managing task assignments and monitoring progress for a cross-functional team comprised of employees, contractors and vendors at distributed work locations, status reporting, and managing issues & risks.
- The Intermediate PM is responsible for detailed financial forecasting, cost management, actual tracking, and explaining variances.
- Responsible for supporting complex and high risks projects. Oversees project budgets and schedules.
- Manage day-to-day aspects of project tasks.
- Document and manage project risks.
- Creates and manages project work plans and work breakdown structures.
- Supports the project planning effort, including the definition of the deliverables and the required delivery dates, creation of a logical work breakdown structure, definition of major project milestones, accumulation of all project cost and benefit estimates.
- Manages, prepares and produces project management reports, schedules, budgets, and related documentation.
- Create and manage project financials including budgeting, forecasting, actuals tracking and calculating earned value metrics.
- Identifies risks and issues and provides effective mitigation. Monitors project activities and resolves/escalates issues as needed.
- Minimum 7 years of project management experience required
- Experience with managing application development and in place technical upgrades of commercial off the shelf applications projects
- Experience managing requirements specification, design activities, prototype development, testing and final deployment
- Vendor management experience including leading RFP’s, SOW creation, financial control, and aggressively driving vendor to meet date and budget commitments
- Proven experience on a project with a large number of impacted users, (i.e., at least 100 users) and managing the associated organizational change management
- Experience in managing project budget forecasts and actuals
- SCADA and DCS system experience preferred
- Experience with accrual-based accounting preferred
- Utility or energy industry experience preferred
- Natural Gas business experience preferred
- Project Management Professional certification preferred
