Sr. Java Developer – Job #
Legal / Collections Partner – remote
Direct Hire or C2H

General Position Summary:

- Our Partner has an old system built on Cobol and is needing to be upgraded Java. They’re in need of a Sr. Java Developer, someone who can come in and take ownership of the software, assess the current code and application, suggest solutions and implement to make more efficient and maintain.

Requirements:

  • Ideally 6-8 plus years of Java / J2EE Development experience
  • Legacy app is written in Cobol, REST API’s are also written in Cobol and this person needs to help compile those API’s in Java
  • Responsibilities include maintaining, enhancing, and documenting existing APIs leveraged by CPX application and its customers. Knowledge of development and consumption of REST APIs, as well as creating and troubleshooting SQL statements is required.
  • Hands-on experience with creation and implementation of unit tests is a plus.
  • Previous experience working in an Agile development environment is a plus, as is previous experience in the legal collections field
  • Regression and Unit testing experience
  • Experience in a DevOps or CI/CD environment, including working with Jenkins or CircleCI is a plus.

 

Nice to haves:
- Lead or mentoring type experience

Ideal candidate would have some “Law Firm” type experience. Next best is Collections, banking or financial type experience
