Position Summary:
  • Develops high level design for solutions.
  • Develops artifacts to be used be used in downstream SDLC phases.
  • Leads technical resources during the Detailed Design and Development phase, leading the team from design to solution deployment.
  • Coordinates technical aspects of deployment, including hardware environments, certification, and software deployment.
Position Description:
  • Business Systems PMO delivery team is looking for a highly energetic and seasoned Senior Project Architect with experience in data integrations, data lakes, analytics, and cognitive learning.
  • The Project Architect will need to span the end-to-end life cycle of data – from data ingestion from multiple sources, consolidation in a data lake, and retrieval into a newly created analytics and cognitive learning application. As such, this person needs broad experience in data and application architecture, design, and implementation planning, and needs to be able to execute end-to-end solutions in an agile framework.
  • Previous Utilities experience is desirable. 10+ years of experience required.
  • Need someone who specifically has acted in a Project Architect role.
  • This role is highly collaborative, requiring the Project Architect to work with multiple teams and partner vendors.
  • Travel may be required but infrequent.
Description of Duties: 
  • Architect and design application architecture; assist with defining and collecting requirements – non-functional and technical. 
  • Produce detailed and well-formed documents, drawings, and presentations 
  • Research, identify, and recommend technology services and products as they pertain to enterprise, program, and project strategies 
  • Build and maintain relationships with various leaders and team members across IT organization • Lead, perform, and assist with technical collaboration activities with leadership and roles across IT teams (onshore/offshore); with external vendors 
  • Lead, collaborate with, and coordinate outsourced managed service providers 
  • Identify and resolve technical risks and issues as they arise
  • Coordinate internal resources – technical, Enterprise Architecture (EA), domain lead and vendors for creating the project architecture and technical review board (TRB) deliverables 
  • Facilitate and manage all project related activities related to project architecture – ensuring completion of all deliverables on-time and approved by EA, domain leads via TRB reviews 
  • Play the PA/Tech lead role to ensure the delivery of designed application architecture
Skills: 
  • Should be familiar with Data integrations, data analytics, data lakes, and conditional and cognitive data analysis and software. 
  • Experience with Informatica, Oracle, Hadoop, OSI PI, SAP integrations, and IBM Watson would be beneficial 
  • Strong facilitation, communication and collaborative skills
  • Should be able to work with uncertainty, unknown and lack of clarity 
  • Exposure to Agile methodologies – member of SCRUM team would be a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Solid technical background, with understanding or hands-on experience in software development and web technologies
