Projects the candidate will be working on:

  • Resources works as an Operational Support DBA to support State Govt. Solution Applications

Ideal Background:

  • Traditional/seasoned Oracle Operations DBA

Top Requirements:

  • a. 5 + years of Oracle Operational DBA experience in the IT industry. Plus 1 or 2 years of MySQL DBA experience.
  • b. 5+ years of experience with RAC technologies 19c and 12c (CRS/ASM/RAC Services)
  • c. 5+ years of experience with Oracle Dataguard

Team and Team size:

  • Team of 6 DBAs
  • Various client Applications

Top Responsibilities:

  •  Provide ongoing operational support for Oracle+MySQL Databases in all application specific environments (Dev to Prod)
  • Conduct performance tuning to maintain system stability (using Oracle RDBMS tools)
  • Provide data migrations (RMAN restore/refresh and datapump exp/imp)
  • Assist in manual and automated application code deployments (DDLs and DMLs)
  • Troubleshooting to capture incident data and analyze for root cause issues
  • Participate in binaries installation, DB creation, configuration, upgrades and DB patching and OS patching activities
  • Serve as a good team player by working with colleagues and clients to identify and address overall system problems as needed
  • Participate 24x7 on-call rotation with other colleagues on a weekly rotation basis
  • Influence management to adopt new ideas, products, and/or approaches as appropriate

Skills/attributes Required

  • 5 + years of Oracle Operational DBA experience in the IT industry. Plus 1 or 2 years of MySQL DBA experience.
  • Proven experience supporting/maintaining Databases systems in the Unix environment
  • Experience with RAC technologies 19c and 12c (CRS/ASM/RAC Services)
  • Experience with Oracle Dataguard
  • Experience in RMAN refresh/restore operations and Datapump exp/imp
  • Experience in Database monitoring, Performance tuning, Health Checks, Stats collection, Query Optimizing, Indexes
  • Demonstrated experience supporting J2EE portal based applications
  • Willingness and ability to provide 24x7 on-call support

Skills/attributes Preferred

  • Experience with 12c/19c RAC, HA-DR, Dataguard, ASM, OEM, RMAN, and EXPDP/IMPDP
  • Experience with TDE, Wallet, Audit Vault
  • Experience with Data migrations (RMAN restore, EXPDP/IMPDP)
  • Experience with Database RMAN backup/recovery skills (TSM/TDPO/DDomain)
  • Experience with Capacity management (space utilization, archive/purge data)
  • Exposure to monitoring and creating alerts in OEM
  • Understanding of job scheduling
  • Experience with User Security/Administration
  • Experience with VM Ware is plus
  • Experience with other DBMS platforms such as SQL Server, MySQL etc. is a plus
  • Willing to share knowledge and learn new concepts (cross-train) with colleagues
