Projects the candidate will be working on:

  • Will be part of the Normative Health Information (NHI) technology group supports two primary databases
  • De-identified Normative Health Information database (dNHI) which houses claims, membership, provider, and ancillary data
  • Research Database (ORD), which is a de-identified research database that is administered by the Business Associate function.

Ideal Background:

  • Someone that can collaborate with project stakeholders and technical teams regarding enhancements, changes, issues and defects that may impact development, data, workflow and/or functionality
  • Someone that can perform data analysis, using in-depth knowledge of relational databases and healthcare data
  • Someone that has the ability to deliver quality work, delivered on a tight schedule, and across multiple concurrent assignments

Experience:

  • Folks who work within healthcare database environment, understanding of structured and unstructured data, SQL experience.

Top Requirements:

  • All are important - working with big data and ability to query/understand this data is critical for this job. Lacking SQL skills would make this job extremely difficult.

Team and Team size:

  • This person would be part of my BA team. I have 10 data analysts (business analyst) we work with engineers (both ETL and QA), scrum masters, product owners.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support all phases of the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Work with business stakeholders to gather requirements and specifications, complete artifacts, including solution design support
  • Validate requirements with stakeholders and the project team; provide suggestions and recommendations
  • Lead internal review sessions with all levels, including senior leadership
  • Document, discuss and resolve business, data and reporting issues within the team, across functional teams, and with business stakeholders
  • Write and interpret Business Requirements and translate into Functional Specifications
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders and technical teams regarding enhancements, changes, issues and defects that may impact development, data, workflow and/or functionality
  • Perform data analysis, using in-depth knowledge of relational databases and healthcare data
  • Present written and verbal data analysis findings, to both the project team and business stakeholders
  • Effectively communicate with many levels of the organization, business stakeholders/SME, project managers, developers, system architects, quality assurance, operations, etc
  • Ability to deliver quality work, delivered on a tight schedule, and across multiple concurrent assignments
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Work with Azure (Synapse or snowflakes) and analytics platforms (Apache spark, Data bricks)
  • Work with Microsoft Office products.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Business Analysis experience
  • 2+ years of US Healthcare BA experience working in large organization
  • 2+ years of data analysis (profiling) and source-to-target mapping (including complex business rules) of healthcare clinical and/or administrative data domains
  • 2+ years large data warehouse / big data projects / Azure Cloud eco system skills
  • SQL experience/skill (in Synapse or snowflake)
  • Knowledge on Azure active directory and Azure domain services
  • Knowledge and programming skills related to SAS
  • Demonstrated experience interacting with all levels of technical and business leadership
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Experience with Agile / Scrum and other SDLC methodologies

Interview Process:

  • 1-2 Interviews. Zoom/Teams. We will want technical details related to the work the candidate has done, potentially with examples.. like SQL statements – explaining how they work, etc..
