Projects the candidate will be working on:

  • As part of OBHICP(State of Alaska) initiative, we are hiring a Data Engineer.

Experience:

  • Cloud and Java technical skills

Top Requirements:

  • Spring Boot, Java and Cloud

Team and Team size:

  • 1scrum master, 5 data engineers and a product owner

Top Responsibilities:

  • Lead Behavioral Technology data engineering delivery and create data foundation to enable Behavioral strategic pillars
  • Participate in sessions to design API solutions centered around Kafka / Cassandra technologies
  • Participate in the Engineering Center of Excellence to drive standards and best practices around Kafka / Snowflake technologies
  • Review solutions in Kafka / Snowflake for resiliency and fault tolerance making recommendations for improvement
  • You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.
Required Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years of software engineering experience
  • Expert knowledge in programming languages such as Java and Python
  • Expert knowledge in high performing API
  • Experience in streaming using tools such as Kafka
  • You will be asked to perform this role in an office setting, however, may be required to work from home temporarily due to space limitations.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Big Data experience
  • Experience with Elastic Search
  • Experience with identifying standards and best practices for development
  • Experience working in an Agile environment
  • Experience with testing automation and performance testing
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills with ability to communicate effectively at all levels
