Projects the candidate will be working on:

  • The Center for Advanced Clinical Solutions (CACS) at Health was launched in May 2021 and works to develop cutting edge clinical tools that enable more proactive, evidence-based care for our customers and reduce administrative burden for care teams.
  • As a Center we partner with groups across UnitedHealth Group to ensure clinicians have access to the latest and best solutions to deliver high-quality care tailored to a patients unique circumstances.


  • Either Healthcare, DevOps/cloud, or full stack.

Team and Team size:

  • Varies by team but typically: 1 Scrum Master, 1 Product Owner, 4-8 Developers.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Participate in all phases of software engineering including requirements analysis, application design, code development and testing and follow
  • Agile/Scrum methodology to deliver high-quality software releases every 2 weeks.
  • Develop Web Application components using Angular, React, Typescript, CSS and other software development tools and technologies Webservices using NextJS, and/or GraphQL.
  • Use patterns, integration/collaboration concepts, and technologies such as Backend as Service (BaaS), Serverless FaaS, Microservices, message queues, FHIR Unit and integration tests for all written software programs and components.
  • Lead a team of Engineers and Senior Engineers and ensure best practices. Follow test driven development approach.
  • Review code and transfer knowledge according to established team processes.
  • Document and communicate design and application code specifications and details to other team members.

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
  • 6+ years of programming and full software development life- cycle experience
  • 4+ years of experience TypeScript, JavaScript, Angular, React, and/or CSS
  • 2+ years of experience Cloud/Distributed architecture design patterns
  • 1+ years leading a team of developers
  • Solid technical skills including solid understanding of software development methodologies and principles

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in health care, FHIR standards, and system integration
  • Experience with one or more automated testing tools - e.g., Cucumber, Protractor/Selenium, Jest, Cypress
  • Experience working with NestJS, Express, Fastify, or other Javascript API framework
  • Web service API development experience
  • Splunk experience
  • Solid understanding of functional programming concepts
  • Knowledge of modern authorization mechanisms, such as JSON Web Token and OAuth
  • Experience Java and Spring
