Job Title

  • Specialist, IT Talent & Development

Main Purpose of the Role

  • Plans and executes the prioritized activities under the IT Talent strategy in the IT Talent Development Office for mid-career and emerging leader personnel across IT, including:
  • Creating the IT talent and development plan to support the implementation of the IT strategy and the unique needs of mid-career and emerging leader IT talent.
  • Determining how talent and development solutions are used to achieve long-term business success and add value to meet organizational needs.
  • Analyzing, designing, and delivering a range of talent and development solutions to meet IT employee and organizational needs.
  • Also, as a member of the IT Talent Development Office, coordinate focused development programs across all levels of IT:
  • Creating and implementing development programs to grow key IT skills, roles and acumen across all levels of the organization.
  • Analyzing skill gaps and implementing effective programs to address, including measuring effectiveness of existing and future development offerings.

Main Responsibilities

  • As part of the IT Talent Development Office, collaborates in the development of the overall IT Talent Strategy, including the focus areas and supporting programs needed to execute the strategy.
  • Under the direction of the Director, IT Talent Development Office, assesses, diagnoses, plans and implements strategic talent solutions to support the IT Strategy for mid-career and emerging leader personnel.
  • Implements programs, partnering with resources across the organization to successfully deliver solutions and initiatives that address key areas of focus from the IT Talent Strategy.
  • Facilitates a steering committee of representatives from across IT focused on mid-career and emerging leader personnel.
  • Provides support to IT on executing key talent and organization strategies for mid-career and emerging leader personnel.
  • Creates and implements development programs to grow key IT skills, roles and competencies across IT, including the evaluation and sourcing of third-party providers.
  • Creates awareness for all IT employees about the various development programs and opportunities and maximizes the utilization of existing development programs.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree. Master’s degree in L&D, OD or related field or MBA preferred.
  • 8+ years’ experience in learning and/or development within large organizations.
