Projects the candidate will be working on:

  • Government Operations is empowered by its next generation of leaders. Gov’t Operations aspires to develop this pool of Ready Now / Ready Soon successors for future leadership roles - Gov’t Operations Leadership Development (GOLD) is designed to do just this.
  • GOLD will build and reinforce key competencies required to be a utility player in Operations, a leader positioned for future senior leadership roles.
  • Key leadership competencies of vision, communication, and execution will be embedded into learning events unique to an Operations environment.
  • The long-term outcome of GOLD will be the development of well-rounded Operations leaders, creating the next bench of senior operations leaders.
  • The 2021/2022 launch of GOLD will serve as a leadership development pilot for Gov’t Operations leaders. Learnings from this pilot will then be applied for an anticipated future roll out across all UHC Operations.

Top Responsibilities:

  • This role will have full accountability for the strategy, design, and delivery of Gov’t Operations Leadership Development (GOLD). This spans the development of the holistic development experience, to specific learning experience execution, and finally the analysis of this pilot development approach for future consideration for all UHC Operations.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • • Own the launch of GOLD to develop people leaders as the next generation of senior operations leaders
  • • Partner with stakeholders across the enterprise to incorporate communications, logistics, and curriculum design into learning components of GOLD.
  • • Lead the holistic execution of each learning component including speaker engagement, comprehensive logistics management, and participant engagement points.
  • • Facilitate the learning events, moderating components of presentations or shepherding participants through succession of event segments.
  • • Collaborate with Gov’t Operations senior leaders, Human Capital Partners, and business leaders in the curriculum design and development of GOLD for the pilot launch in 2021 / 2022.
  • • Engage in and lead user-centered design efforts to ensure products and solutions incorporate future leadership development needs for Operations leaders.
  • • Manage internal and external partner relationships through vendor selection, management, and evaluation
  • • Evaluate the effectiveness of GOLD by developing measures, benchmarks, and scorecards to monitor the effectiveness of learning events.
  • • Review and analyze feedback on GOLD from participants and senior leadership, identifying trends and providing recommendations for enhancements or changes to learning events.

Skills/attributes:

  • • Undergraduate’s degree or comparable work experience
    • 3+ years’ progressive experience in talent development, program management, or product management
    • 3+ years’ experience within a large, global, complex organization
    • Proven experience in basic office and training technologies, including MS Office and Collaboration and communication platforms (SharePoint, Teams, Yammer)
