Tell us about your department:

  • We are the Client Merchandising Technology team.
  • We build and deliver software that support business capabilities in the Space Planning & Visual Merchandising team.  
  • Our team enhances and supports the tools and teams within the retail merchandising segments to support Client store layouts and the optimal sku placements for the best customer shopping experience.

Project Description:

  • Ongoing Product work as an efficient development team (moving towards full Agile) which will include custom-built software solutions and packaged software which includes SAAS systems. 

Position Overview:

  • We are seeking an experienced engineering lead who wants to work on an agile development team.  
  • As an Engineering Lead you will create, maintain and evaluate tools that support Space Management Solutions and look for the overall solutioning.  
  • This includes supporting customer and client-based teams for floorplan/planogram development and analytics.
  • Candidate should be able to identify process inefficiencies, possess programming skills to implement automated solutions, and have an aptitude for learning new technologies.
  • With strong technical knowledge candidate should be able to lead a development team, guide them through the best practices and work as a team leader.

Top Skills:

  • Building the simplest possible thing that will continually deliver working software to end users
  • Service development, REST, HTTP, Java, Spring or Groovy, JSON
  • Prioritize, communicate clearly, and consistently deliver results

Basic Job Qualification:

  • Experience in computer programming and creating code in languages such as C#,VB. Net, Java, JavaScript, and/or PL/SQL.
  • Experience in working with API's and webservers. 
  • Strong knowledge Database - Access, MSSQL
  • Experienced working with Windows based tools.
  • Reporting tool experience- BOBJ, SharePoint
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Experience with Space Management tools, e.g.- AutoCAD, JDA-IKB etc.
  • Experience in leading dev team and guiding them to achieve the timely and efficient results.

 Preferred Qualification:

  • Advanced knowledge of planogram and floorplan software -Blue Yonder(formally JDA) Space Planning Suite (Space Planning, Floor Planning, IKB, Open Access, Assortment Optimization, Space Automation)
  • Cloud knowledge
  • Agile (SCRUM) experience preferred
  • Fair experience with NiFi and other integration tools.

Tools in the system and technology used in them:

  • SPHQ and AutoCAD- C#, VB.net, AutoCAD-API's, webserver, MSSQL, PL/SQL, SharePoint, ETK,BOBJ Reporting.
  • JDA- C#, VB.net, webserver, MSSQL, PL/SQL, SharePoint ,ETK,BOBJ Reporting, batch jobs
  • VMM- Integration-(DB to File, DB to DB, File to DB), MFT
  • Misc- Java,Javascript,HTML,Webservers,API's,C#,DataBase,Reporting,Sharepoint.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Knowledge of modern deployment, CI/CD, and configuration management tools
  • Ability and aptitude to dig into and solve challenging problems and proactively avoid problems
  • Scripting, automation, and troubleshooting of processes and systems
  • Understands and is willing to work with integrating 3rd party software systems (e.g. Blue Yonder/JDA, One Door, Life ray DXP, Symphony Retail, IBM MDM, IBM BAW)

Preferred Soft Skills:

  • Courage to communicate in an honest and direct manner
  • Willing to accept decisions that depart from your opinion
  • Able to draft user stories and acceptance criteria
  • Enthusiastic and self-motivated
  • Excellent organizational skills
