Position Description:

  • As a Tier 2 Analyst, you will assist in managing our security tools environment around Checkpoint technology.
  • This will include the health and monitoring of our IPS environment on several firewall devices. You will work to enable new protection policies by researching the details around each individual entry based on several factors.
  • You will then work to validate these policies and create the necessary documentation to meet our auditing teams needs.
  • You will also work on auditing of the security policies to review any unused rules and work with the business to determine if these are still required.
  • Finally, you will assist in managing the SaaS content filtering tool.
  • Job duties may change at any time due to business needs.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Recent and a minimum of 2 years of knowledgeable working experience with monitoring, modifying and updating IDS/IPS technologies. Preferred Checkpoint.
  • Recent and a minimum of 1 year of knowledge working experience with user web content filtering technology. Preferred Forcepoint.
  • Experience with auditing of firewall rules.
  • Experience in a Utility Industry and meeting audit requirements for NERC
  • Experience with automation using scripting languages (Ansible preferred; also Python, Perl, BASH shell scripting, etc.)
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience Minimum of 2 years of direct experience an Information Security analyst role
  • Security certifications (i.e. CISSP, Security+, GCIH, GCIA) a plus
  • Experience with security monitoring in a SOC environment
  • Experience with host and network security tools
  • Ability to employ critical and analytical thinking, logic and an attention to detail
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
