Work collaboratively with a cross-functional teams to build and improve our digital account and self-support products. Use design thinking principles while working in an agile sprint methodology. With tremendous curiosity and resilience, deliver designs that simplify and enhance the mobile app customer experience. 

Responsibilities
  • Work with the research, design, product and engineering teams to facilitate discovery that clarifies and quantifies customer problems.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and build a wholistic solution with the entire mobile app in mind. 
  • Identify critical and non-critical user journeys relevant to each product feature, mapping existing state including highlighting any customer pain points - validate with known data. Help to identify key performance indicators and the greatest opportunities to impact our customers. 
  • Collaborate with the other app designers, data analysts, product owners, business leads and other key stakeholders across the organization. 
  • Support business leads and analysts as they measure impacts of proposed solutions. Track success metrics after releases and identify the appropriate time and focus for the next iteration on the journey. 
  • Use quantitive and qualitative data to deliver conceptual artifacts that communicate how user needs are NOT being met (e.g. journey maps, service blueprints).
  • Based on a shared understanding of customer problems, work collaboratively to generate ideas that can be quickly validated or invalidated using lo-fi protoypes (e.g. information architectures, do go maps, journey maps, lo-fi wires). Ideas should consider existing vs desired engineering architecture, ecosystems and roadmaps. Solutions should be able to scale. Work with the research team and design technology to test. Be able to articulate findings and direction based on learnings to stakeholders, product designers, engineers. 
  • Contribute and lead when needed in forming a clear and focused problem statement, hypothesis, and measurable success metrics. 
  • Facilitate collaboration with content, accessibility, design technology and product designers to prevent a ‘hand-off’ scenario. 
  • Using agile sprint methodologies, document/track/update your work in appropriate Jira ticket and in appropriate chalk pages. 
  • Facilitate design sprints to iterate quickly on features, propose focused solutions, and identify additional research opportunities. 
  • Collaborate with other mobile app designs to ensure the designs are cohesive and follow team standards. 
  • Deliver final design workflows and zeplin screens in a timely manner. 
  • Identify any opportunities (along with product and engineering) for A/B testing. 
  • Review the final delivered product and ensure that it meets the expected experience/design.
  • Provide direction to software engineers during development sprints.

  • Possess an in-depth understanding of our users and their needs and pain-points. Validate with as much data as possible. Lead by example in being the #1 advocate for customers by building empathy throughout the organization. 
  • Look to identify opportunities to “pitch” future work by partnering with research teams and data analysts.  
  • Build (and earn) trust across different teams, connecting dots, playing match maker/peace maker and being a healthy conduit for information flowing throughout the program. 
  • Provide support to other designers by respecting their expertise and decisions as they build the designs for their specific features. 
  • Bridge the gap with the business, product, and engineering stakeholders while advocating for the user
  • Think in terms of design systems and make rational design decisions that support the whole program.  
  • Be an expert on the mobile app and the specific features that the team is responsible for.
  • Be flexible and stay positive as we continue to evolve as an organization and program.

  • Accessibility experience a plus
