ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

  • With OSAM, we now have Release Train Engineers, but in many ways it is a project management role. This is my version of what this role is:

The RTE is assigned to: Projects impacting multiple applications teams, blue chip projects, and high visibility projects The RTE will focus on:

  • delivery of assigned projects
  • manages risks and escalates impediments
  • coordinates and manage milestone dates across all impacted application teams
  • report aggregate status
  • escalate project issues/risks
  • aid application team in removing blockers

Key responsibilities of an RTE are:

  • Facilitate meeting such as project Kickoff, PI planning, Scrum of Scrums, Retrospective
  • Coordinating technical dependencies / competencies across teams to ensure holistic system integrity
  • Identifying technical issues, constraints, risks, and challenges
  • Report project status across all applications

Other responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with periodic synchronization meetings.
  • Providing feedback on resourcing to address critical bottlenecks.
  • Facilitating relationships between OMNI teams and other departments.
  • Communicating and collaborating with product and solution management, product owner. and other stakeholders to guarantee the alignment of strategy and execution.
  • Provides thought leadership and recommendations across the projects. Actively contribute to the OSAM communities.
  • Play a key role in creating partnerships at the Train level that build trust and respect. They seek to foster a team collaborative environment that tears down silos between groups-helping them act as a whole.

Projects the candidate will be working on:

  • OmniChannel program, Afiniti implementations.
  • Our OmniChannel team is transforming our contact center infrastructure through a multi-year program entitled Omni.
  • The Omni program provides a platform level technical refresh for the delivery of inbound customer calls to ~75,000 agents globally.

Ideal Background:

  • Basic Program and project management skills. Creating and managing timelines for multiple projects. Tracking issues and risks and reporting status.

Top Requirements:

  • At least 5 years PM experience.

Team and Team size:

  • Sole Contributor
  • The RTE team is currently made up of 10 members.

Interview Process:

  • We are looking to fill these positions as soon as possible so once I have candidates we can schedule interviews.
  • a. How many rounds? The plan is to have 1-2 rounds of phone interviews. Assuming the interviewers can coordinate our schedules we will interview 3-5 candidates and hopefully make a decision. If we have multiple outstanding candidates we would have one additional interview.
  • b. Video vs. phone? Phone
  • c. How technical will the interviews be? The interviews for the project manager/RTE position will be more focused on process, program/project management and scaled agile.
