Associate Front End Web Developer

  • Associate Front End Web Developer that serves as a member of a multi-disciplinary product team which focuses on one part of the customer experience- envisioning, designing, developing, and delivering customer facing commerce and engagement experiences for our family of brands
  • Collaborate on large, complex projects that have a direct business impact
  • Exciting opportunity to gain experience writing and testing valid, web standards-based HTML, CSS, and JavaScript while building more advanced Web development skills

Your skills should include:

  • Knowledge of Web Standards, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Some experience in front end development with both technical and visual expertise
  • Curiosity about and a desire to learn Web development best practices
  • Understanding of the following standards and technologies: DOM, JSON, AJAX, HTML5 Video, Git
  • Some exposure to React and front end frameworks
  • Some exposure to agile methodologies and supporting practices, tools, and technology
  • Desire to learn automated testing, continuous integration & deployment, and supporting tools and technology
  • Knowledge of WCAG 2.0 AA is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Under the guidance of more senior developers, work with creative and business partners to understand, build and adjust web application functionality and visual presentation to support business goals
  • Develop re-usable, maintainable, accessible cross-platform HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for front end web application components while adhering to web and team standards
  • Working in an AT/CI/CD paradigm, develops with testing in mind; authors unit tests to provide sufficient testing coverage for each developed component
  • Identifies opportunities to optimize and improve front end performance
  • Ensure accuracy and attention to detail throughout the development process
  • Remain curious and current with new developments in front end web development industry

Years of Related Experience & Education

  • 1-3 years of practical front end web development experience in writing and testing valid, web standards-based HTML, CSS, JS
  • Understanding of basics of computer science such as: Object Oriented Programming, Data Structures, Development Patterns
  • Experience working for retail brands or other environment with very high standards for presentation layer is a plus
  • E-commerce experience is a plus
  • Associate's Degree or equivalent relevant experience
