Tell us about your department:

  • Customer Engagement under Ramesh Babu, Kannan Swaminathan, and Kavita Baball.  
  • My teams deal specifically with customer communications (email, sms, app notifications about orders, etc.)

Project Description:

  • Ongoing backend software development for various apps that support customer communications.  
  • The candidate would be working on our Notify Me functionality as well as our Url Shortener and our email link gateway, also known as “EASE”.  
  • These are existing apps that are currently supported offshore, and we would like to bring in some local talent. 

Position Summary/Job Description:

  • The Customer Communications Platform Team is searching for a talented mid-level developer to help build clients next-generation messaging platform.  
  • There are multiple systems under our scope including Geolocation Services, Url Shortener, Communication Proxy Services, and Notify Me.  
  • We are looking for an expert-generalist (or aspiring expert-generalist) who doesn’t mind working on several apps at once.  
  • The ideal candidate would be a critical thinker who is dedicated to constant learning, and who need little supervision.  
  • In this role, you will be working with other skilled engineers to build and test new features that have a direct impact on our customers.

What are the top five skills and number of years of experience required to perform this job:

  • 4-6 Years of experience
  • Java or Groovy
  • REST Services
  • SQL and/or NOSQL skills
  • Unit Testing
  • Distributed Log or Messaging Frameworks like Kafka, Rabbit, or JMS

What are some preferred/nice to have skills the manager is looking for:

  • Service Oriented Architecture and Microservices
  • CI/CD and related build tools
  • Agile methodologies
  • Understanding of Web Security
  • Knowledge of encryption
