10+ YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN THE FOLLOWING: RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensures the database environment is highly reliable, provides the required functionality, is efficient, and cost effective.
  • Accountable for the creation of the logical and physical data models.
  • Troubleshoots daily program problems to assist program users in accessing and manipulating computerized data.
  • Analyzes and creates programs to streamline production jobs.

COMPETENCIES:

  • Establish and maintain data bases for user testing purposes and production;
  • consult with business analysts, data modelers and designers on procedures pertaining to new and existing files; provide input to the data models (functionality, efficiency and usability);
  • responsible for the technical aspects of one or more databases including availability/reliability; assist in the definition of the database requirements;
  • analyze existing databases and their interfaces looking for opportunities to improve their efficiency; and resolve technical problems.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent training or work experience; understanding of customer's business operations and products produced; knowledge of systems applications delivery tools and techniques.
  • Four to six years of applications programming experience or equivalent; three to five years of experience in respective database area; experience in more than one database structure (hierarchical, network or relational);
  • understands the pros and cons of each;
  • experience with tools and utilities for platform; and understand the pros and cons of different designs with respect to storage, system performance and user flexibility.

Description:

  • Manager is looking for a Windows Systems Administrator to assist with a File Share Security and Migration project.
  • The Windows Systems Administrator will be responsible for managing the file systems on Window Servers and NAS Appliances.
  • This includes NTFS, CIFS, Unix NTFS Hybrid shares.
  • Successful candidates will have 3-5+ years of Windows Systems Administration experience, knowledge of Active Directory Groups, including Global and Local Domain Groups, and experience managing file share security or migration projects.
  • Candidate must understand Windows NTFS File Share level and File Level Security.
  • Additionally, knowledge of applications such as Treesize or Security Explorer, keeping tools up to date and knowledge of Azure file shares/ sync, as well as, working in a cloud based and on premises environment (Recovery Service Vault, Sync Services and Storage Accounts knowledge) is a plus.
  • Selected candidates will assist with:
  • Migration Projects to newer file share technologies including Azure File Services and OneDrive · Data Classification / Data Scanning and Security Project
  • Open shares scanning and remediation
  • File share security remediation
  • Move to a standard security model
  • Run and maintain PowerShell scripts to scan NAS environment for open shares
  • Review Scan reports for open file shares, maintain list of open shares
  • Contact owners of shares to lock down shares.

  • 1.) 3 – 5 years of Windows Systems Administration
  • 2.) Knowledge of File Share Security and/or Experience supporting File Share Migrations
  • 3.) Knowledge of AD, including: global groups, domain local groups
  • 4.) Powershell (experience updating existing scripts; not required)

This position will be On-site preferred; work hours: 8:30am – 4:30pm or 9am – 5pm.
