The BI Communications Specialist position is responsible for developing and managing Business Intelligence (BI) communications to its end user community. This individual has exceptional communication skills and will manage written communications from intake to authoring to distribution, ensuring that our customers have timely information needed to effectively and accurately use BI products.

Researches, prepares and edits complex technical documents. Ensures documents meet editorial and customer specifications and adhere to standards for quality, graphics, format, and style. Interfaces with writers, illustrators, word processors, and subject matter specialized in coordinating and preparing the edited draft. Participates in the publishing of formatted documentation in various media. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technical subject matter as assigned. Participates as member of project team. Tracks project documentation through creation, approval, publication, and update lifecycle. 2-5 years of experience.

  • Research and write announcements, articles and other materials geared toward information sharing and transparency. Maintain a repository of standard communication templates to be leveraged throughout the BI team
  • Collect and organize facts of highly complex issues or initiatives to produce concise executive summaries, PowerPoint presentations, and end user communications. Use the appropriate types, methods, and tools needed for each communication
  • Manage proactive and reactive communications of data integrity issues, conveying complex information in a manner that is easy to understand at multiple level of the organization
  • Create and manage communications on new product releases and organizational announcements on behalf of the leadership team
  • Ability to read, write, and speak the English language to communicate with team members and internal customers in person, on the phone, and by written communications in a clear, straight-forward, and professional manner
  • Ability to investigate, analyze, and interpret data related to complex concepts and summarize them into clear and concise content, suitable for the intended audience at any level of the organization
  • Ability to summarize topics into clear, visually appealing PowerPoint presentations; skilled at creating powerful PowerPoint templates to help teams efficiently build consistent communications
  • Ability to own and support content development, design, review, and approval for communications utilizing tools such as Adobe Campaign (or equivalent)
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; Expert level skill in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint and proficient in Visio and Excel
  • Self-motivated, creative, able to grasp new concepts quickly, and a strong attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills, with ability to balance day-to-day needs for producing “tactical” communications while advancing efforts on communications projects (e.g. new templates, etc)
