Primary Responsibilities:
- Put the Agile Manifesto and Scrum Values into action while driving these forward throughout the organization
- Facilitate effective sprints and scrum ceremonies, including stand-ups and retrospectives
- Mentor, coach, and train team members and leaders on Agile Principles and Scrum values
- Ensure team alignment and follow through on sprint commitments
- Advocate for continuous process improvement to deliver results with predictability while cultivating innovation, accountability, adaptability, and collaboration.
- Coach the team and organization to help identify impediments and remove them
- Cultivate a highly engaged team by building trust, empowering team members, and recognizing notable achievements
Key Performance Indicators:
- Scrum team maturity based on the teams ability to deliver on commitments, adhere to the organizational framework, and continuously improve
- Team is able to instill a cross-functional approach to develop and solve complex problems
- Stakeholders are satisfied with team deliverables and sprint outcomes
- Positive team member & product owner feedback
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Certified Scrum Master Certification (Scrum Alliance CSM)
- 2+ Years as a dedicated Scrum Master
- If have managed multiple teams as a Scrum Master, this is a plus
- Experience using agile tooling (ie. Jira, Service Now ect.)
- Understanding of agile methodologies & values
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Experience with using agile delivery tools such as ServiceNow to manage work items.
- Demonstrates application of Root Cause Analysis and systems thinking to solve problems and the ability to resolve conflicts neutrally with effective mediation skills (Active listening, verification techniques, empathy and Socratic methods)
- Communicates clearly and transparently, delivering relevant, facts-based messages to all team members and stakeholders
- Proven ability to influence others without direct authority
- Proven ability to follow through on issues to resolution
- Leads others through change effectively
- Establishes operating mechanisms for effective collaboration among remote and local team members and stakeholders
- Maintains neutrality in team decision making process and facilitates to assure all team members have weighed in before decisions are finalized and acted upon
- Fosters engagement and close cooperation across all team members encouraging cross-training and team support
- Builds a trusting and safe environment where problems may be raised without fear
