Description:

  • The EMR integration lead will work with key initiative Point of Care Assist and will be responsible to serve as a liaison between internal clinical teams and various external EMRs and EMR vendors.
  • This role requires working with external vendors to integrate with FHIR APIs and Smart on FHIR apps built by clinical teams. It is critical that the candidates applying for this role have a thorough understanding of EMR workflows and implementation experience working with EMRs like Epic, Cerner, Athena, Allscripts etc.
  • Strong candidates for this role will be able to demonstrate self-motivation, individual leadership and team collaboration.

Team and Team size:

  • This is a very large initiative with multiple product teams building product for integration with EMRs.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Business and Technical Product team to manage specification changes, coordinate vendor implementations and answer questions from internal teams and external vendors.
  • Facilitate communication with stakeholders from initial requirements to final implementation.
  • Participate/Lead in design sessions to understand the technical implementation of the product.
  • Lead large, complex EMR implementations to achieve key business objectives
  • Develop and manages execution plans such as milestones and project plans to achieve release objectives.
  • Drive daily scrum calls with various external EMR vendors and follow through on open items.
  • Ability to multitask and ensure internal product is ready to begin integration with external EMRs.
  • Identify and remove impediments across teams.
  • Provide guidance and oversight on EMR workflow integration.
  • Build dashboards and adhoc reports showing utilization of services in EMRs.
  • Partner with delivery lead to coordinate vendor releases with internal workstreams.
  • Coach team members on Agile methodology, practices and mindsets, encourage teams to hold themselves and each other accountable for the teams work, empower team members to be innovative and adaptive through mindful continuous improvements
  • Develop and maintain a meaningful working relationship with our External Vendors to aid in the smooth development and implementation of Program Products. Offer support and guidance on triaging issues.
  • Work closely with architects on design and solution; understand product solution and be able to explain the solution to team members.

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong technical aptitude with emphasis on understanding REST architecture and SaaS.
  • Go Getter attitude with ability to drive teams to deliver on business needs.
  • Understanding of FHIR and Smart on FHIR interoperability standards.
  • 3-5 years of technical implementation experience working with EMRs like Epic, Athena, Cerner, eCW, Allscripts, etc
  • 3+ years' experience communication with senior-level leadership
  • Expert-level expertise with MS Excel and Visio

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree
  • Healthcare background
  • SAFe, LeSS or other Agile certifications
  • PMP certification
  • Great communication skills
  • FHIR certification
