DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create and enhance micro-services using REST/JSON.
  • Create metrics, alerts, and monitors using SQL, Sumo Logic, Datadog, Spring Micrometer and custom developed.
  • Maintain and enhance legacy .NET/SSIS codebase.
  • Migrate legacy .NET/SSIS applications to Spring framework using Java/Kotlin/Spring Boot/Spring Batch.
  • Participate in Agile practices including: Sprint Planning, Backlog Grooming, Daily Standup Meeting, Sprint Review and Sprint Retrospectives.
  • Learn and provide support to the Credit, Collections, and Payments stakeholders and the systems that support them and participate in an on-call rotation.
  • Actively participate in code reviews, demos, and pull requests.
  • Must be a team-oriented person with a desire to own and grow the systems of responsibility.
  • Must like to have fun and like to learn new things.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

What you’ll need:

  • 3 or more years of practical experience in Java development (Spring family of frameworks, JMS, on RedHat/ NGINX/Apache/Tomcat, Grails, …)
  • 2 or more years of experience in SQL technologies
  • Experience using Redis, Kafka, or other NoSQL products
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize work in and Agile development environment and meet deadlines
  • Must be able to have fun and work well with others in a safe and collaborative environment
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a strong desire to learn and share
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Approachable, diplomatic, adaptable personality
  • REST service development experience
  • Spring framework (Spring Boot/Batch)
  • Kotlin (or any JVM language)
  • .NET (C# or VB), SQL Server, and SSIS
  • IntelliJ and Visual Studio IDEs
  • Postgres
  • Containers/Docker/Docker Swarm
  • Kafka and MQ (Rabbit, WebSphere MQ, MSMQ)
  • Monitoring/metrics/tools (Sumo Logic, Data Dog, Jenkins, Portainer)
