Description:

  • Provide development experience to our telemedicine and chatbot ecosystem designed for advanced virtual dr. visits and patient engagement.
  • Development areas focus on chatbot, live chat, video chat and extensible telemedicine platforms that integrate the latest technologies from VOIP platforms to Azure cognitive services such as NLU and speech recognition services.
  • This role is ultimately responsible for rapidly building prototypes that will be demonstrated and potentially picked up by core services for the OptumCare health provider experiences.
  • Technology stacks include Azure Cognitive services, Azure Communication services, Microsoft Botframework and full-stack development using dotnet, Typescript, Python and JavaScript languages

Projects the candidate will be working on:

  • This request is for a critical position on the COVID triage chatbot program.
  • With the onset of the COVID-19 crisis, patients with and without symptoms have dramatically increased calls to OptumCare clinics to check if they need to get tested or see a doctor.
  • We have introduced triage chatbots to automate this process for patients who don’t need to see a doctor and to direct patients to telemedicine for those who do need a doctor evaluation.

Ideal Background:

  • An experienced developer with an R&D mindset and the ability to take on new technologies and implement them based on best practices and design patterns.

Experience:

  • EMR/provider healthcare experience, ability to grasp and take on new technology stacks and experience creating rapid prototypes.
     

Top Requirements:

  • 1 year of meaningful experience with Chatbot/chat experience
  • 1 year of meaningful experience with Cognitive services which include NLP/NLU development
  • 5 years experience with Microsoft .NET/Teams stack 2
  • 3 years experience with Front-End development experience with React or Angular
  • Extensive experience with clinical product management, patient care delivery processes, Agile Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Microsoft Healthbot, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Dynamics, and Microsoft Azure. Also, experience working with an EMR software solution and api integration to existing systems and processes.

Team and Team size:

  • 1 Tech Lead/Architect, 1 Scrum Master/Product Owner, and 3 .NET/Integration Developers. 1 UX/UI designer and a UI developer

Top Responsibilities:

  • Primary responsibility will be to design and develop scalable enterprise software applications using the modern-stack Microsoft technologies and systems for new product capabilities.
  • Daily Interaction with project team members and business stakeholders to discuss high-level concepts and/or desired technology solution;
  • suggests/influences optimal course of action to meet business needs.

Required Experience:
  •  Minimum of five (5) years of application development experience directly related to delivery of Microsoft based technology stack centered around enterprise solutions delivered following Agile and iterative processes
  •  Minimum of (2) years of cognitive services and NLP/NLU development experience
  •  Should demonstrate sound technical experience working with MS.Net frameworks, C# language, and team foundation server
  •  Git and CI/CD pipeline experience using a git repository and checking in code bases to feature branches. Merging branches and correcting merge conflicts should be natural for the developer
  •  Involved with end-to-end application testing to ensure that the applications are defect-free and perform at an optimized level
  •  Junior to mid-level Development and Configuration expertise with MS Dynamics CRM (365)
  •  Microservice and API development experience
  •  Understanding of Microsoft SQL Server and database related technologies

Preferred Experience:
  • Healthcare experience in the Provider / Clinical business space (HL7/FHIR)
  • Chatbot technology
  • Microsoft Certified
  • Cognitive Services and Speech Communication services proficient
  • Full stack developer

Interview Process:

  • a. How many rounds? 1-2 depending on timing
    b. Video vs. phone? Video Teams / WebEx Teleconference (please make sure they have a good internet connection, video is working and are in a quite location.)
    c. How technical will the interviews be? Pretty technical for the .NET roles
    Must be able to explain development patterns and experiences building out software solutions and why or why not they have used a development pattern in their process. API development examples are always a good thing to explain in their entirety.
