Description:

  • As part of our development team, you will predominantly be involved in building business solutions by creating new and modifying existing software applications.
  • You'll stretch your skills and grow your careers as a primary contributor in designing, coding, testing, debugging, documenting and supporting all types of applications consistent with the established specifications and business requirements in order to deliver business value.
  • In this function are responsible for designing, developing and supporting enterprise level custom applications, components and processes.
  • The candidate will operate within established methodologies and apply knowledge of principles and techniques to solve technical problems using innovative solutions.
  • This is a unique development role where custom solutions are engineered end-to-end with a focus on process automation.

Projects the candidate will be working on:

  •  Project Titan is a large scale project within Optum that will be enhancing our security and threat protection capabilities for acquired entities that have not been fully integrated into our normal IT operations processes. As part of the project, we will be migrating to using Microsoft products such as Intune to help us manage devices at the acquired entity.

Ideal Background:

  • Development experience using C# or VB .NET in a larger organization would be ideal along with experience using Team Foundation Server

Experience:

  •  A preferred candidate will have using Team Foundation Server in a larger organization.

Top Requirements:

  • • 4+ years programming experience with C# or VB.NET development
    • 3+ years programming experience with Windows Services
    • 3+ years programming experience with Console applications
    • 4+ years experience with databases and T-SQL including the ability to create and troubleshoot SQL items.
    • 3+ years writing or consuming web APIs (Soap or Rest)

Team and Team size:

  • 1-2 managers, 1 pm, 10-15 technical resources with mix of Optum staff from multiple teams and contract resources.

Required Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in applicable area of expertise or equivalent experience
  • 4+ years programming experience with C# or VB.NET development
  • 3+ years programming experience with Windows Services
  • 3+ years programming experience with Console applications
  • 4+ years experience with databases and T-SQL including the ability to create and troubleshoot SQL items.
  • 3+ years writing or consuming web APIs (Soap or Rest)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Team Foundation Server
  • Experience with .NET enterprise applications
  • Experience with KanBan and/or Agile

Interview Process:

  • a. How many rounds? 1-2
    b. Video vs. phone? Likely phone with video if warranted
    c. How technical will the interviews be? The interview will likely focus heavily on technical skills.
