JOB DESCRIPTION

Overall Objectives

The Associate Product Developer, Raw Material Sampling is an individual contributor responsible for owning all categories for PSR sampling.  They will partner with merchants, design, product development, technical design, vendors, mills and suppliers to develop and execute samples consistent with design’s vision along with the Brand’s global sourcing strategy.  They will create and maintain development documents and reports ensuring time frames are being met.

Responsibilities

Sample Management/Risk Assessment

  • Orders/tracks all post style review samples
  • Creates individual vendor charts for sample tracking
  • Reviews vendor charts weekly for updates on sample ETA dates, vendor call outs, and current sample status  
  • Works with In line PD on sample accuracy call outs from vendors
  • Works with the graphics team to follow up on graphic approval status to help meet sample due dates
  • Works with the technical design and design team to follow up on DI statuses to help meet sample due dates
  • Takes a proactive approach on avoiding raw material & sample delays
  • Risk assess & trouble shoots all Sampling issues and escalates complex issues to manager
  • Composes, maintains and analyzes the sample status report on a weekly basis

Strategy & Process Improvement

  • Reports feedback/hindsight to manger and provide suggestions on process improvement

Data Management

  • Maintains the master PSR charts on a daily basis
  • Consolidates all vendor PSR chart data onto the master PSR chart
  • Reviews technical designs flex report for DI status

Scope of Decision Making

  • Executes with direction

Sampling

  • Systems Work (Flex PLM and Excel)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related area or equivalent experience
  • 1 – 3 years of related experience
  • Demonstrate strong, consistent problem solving abilities and result-driven communication with business partners
  • Keen written, verbal and electronic communication skills, computer proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel (intermediate level), and Outlook
  • Data analytics and composing pivot tables
  • Understanding of calendar deliverables
  • Highly organized and agile to work on multiple seasons at a time
  • Astute attention to detail
  • Basic knowledge of Flex PLM preferred
