Position summary:

  • Company is seeking a Expert Project Manager with strengths in team leadership and experience developing and managing project technical implementation plans.
  • Software implementation, leadership, financial management, project planning and managing implementation plans are all required.
  • This position entails tactical/technical development and interaction with company's (e.g. facilities, application teams, operations) to coordinate and plan IT related tasks.
  • Responsible for managing complex and high risks projects in the Infrastructure and Operations Portfolios.
  • Oversees project budgets and schedules.
  • Manage day-to-day aspects of project scope.
  • Minimizes project risk.
  • Creates and manages project work plans and work breakdown structures.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, monitor, and control overall project plans for assigned projects. Primary focus will be on IT Infrastructure activities related to support IT operations and infrastructure-based projects.
  • Includes development of detailed activity level schedule, developing total effort estimates (scheduled & cost), develop itemized budget, risk management plan, issue management plan, and change management plan.
  • Responsible for managing multiple vendors and business partners to deliver work on schedule, budget, and within agreed upon scope.
  • Partner with business operations teams to ensure the transition from project state to operations. This includes developing and executing a formal communication strategy with business units impacted by projects.
  • Derive and administer all aspects of change management associated with related projects.
  • Change Management Plan: plan outlining all change requests opened against the project, effort, impact, owner, etc.
  • Work with project coordinators to establish financial management plan: itemized by work type / vendor rolling up to overall project budget
  • Responsible for developing Budget and tracking Actuals and Estimate at Complete on a weekly basis.
  • Risk Management Plan: plan outlining all risks identified by project team, likelihood of occurrence, impact if risk occurs, mitigation plan, owner, etc.
  • Issue Management Plan: plan outlining all issues opened against the project, severity, resolution plan, owner, etc.
  • Status Reports: weekly - integration of all of the above-mentioned deliverables framed to assess overall, cost, schedule, scope, and resources statuses.

Job Specification and Skills:
  • Strong foundational knowledge of IT Infrastructure framework.
  • Foundational knowledge of IT services as they intersect with general and core operations
  • Ability to partner with external and internal teams and able to develop overall project plan to achieving targeted business goals and outcomes.
  • Estimate effort (schedule & cost) to delivery project.
  • Tactical: detail oriented / forms decisions based on data driven fact.
  • Must be able to drill down on plan to determine data and determine cause-and-effect relationships between issues and impacts on plan, e.g., total hours / dollars spent working on software development and unit testing; total hours / dollars spend to date with vendor and expected total spend.
  • Project Management Expert MS-Excel: ability to manage and control project budgets across multiple vendors to a rolled-up line itemized overall project view.
  • Tracking actuals to date, forecasting Estimates at complete on a weekly basis.
  • Risk Management: appreciation for and strong implementation of project risk management in the effort to identify potential problems and develop plans to prevent problems from occurring.
  • Issue Management: ability to clearly identify issues and leverage as a mechanism for effective escalation to management to aid in resolution.
  • Communication Management / Status Reporting: ability to effectively synthesize actual results relative to plan performance, including ability to understand and communicate effects of open risks, issues, and project changes against the plan to provide clear assessment.
