Sr. ETL / Informatica Developer


  • 3+ Years Informatica Data Transformation, B2B Experience - processing X12/EDI transactions 837-I, 837-P, 835-RA, 277-CA
  • 3+ Year Informatica Data Quality (IDQ) experience in data profiling/validations
  • 5+ Years Informatica PowerCenter
  • 8+ Years SQL experience with Performance Tuning skills
  • 3+ Years Teradata Version 14+ experience including Teradata Utilities
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills, end client facing, team collaboration, and mentoring skills
  • Team player


  • 3+ Years Data Warehouse experience
  • ETL / Informatica administrative experience
  • Experience in Address Doctor, Metadata Manager
  • Experience in Reporting/Analytics tool shall be a plus (SAP BO, Tableau)
  • Experience in Windows, Unix/Linux scripting
  • Experience with State Medicaid / Medicare / Healthcare applications
  • ETL/Informatica or SQL or BI or Teradata Certification
  • Experience working in Agile

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop ETL interfaces leveraging Informatica Business-to-Business (B2B) software
  • Process and automate X12/EDI transactions (835s, 837s, 277-CAs) load to Teradata database tables
  • Designing, coding, testing, debugging, documenting and supporting all types of applications consistent with established specifications and business requirements to deliver business value
  • Participating and implementing in large, complex projects to achieve key business objectives
  • Developing innovative solutions to meet the needs of the business
  • Providing alternate design solutions along with project estimates
  • Designing and implementing application enhancements in collaboration with different teams
  • Troubleshoot production support issues post release deployment and come up with solutions. Ability to solve complex production issues
  • Predicting emerging customer needs and developing innovative solutions to meet them
  • Solving unique and complex problems with broad impact on the business
  • Participating in the development of business strategy and in meeting the assigned priorities.
  • Translating highly complex concepts in ways that can be understood by a variety of audiences
  • Handling smaller projects completely on their own, including interactions with other teams and 3rd parties for design
  • Involving with management in terms of supplying input for key design and architecture decisions, as well as work estimating, resource/project planning, status reporting

Other Notes:

  • Strong emphasis on ETL/Informatica skills - would like to see a resume history that is focused on ETL as primary skill for 5+ years
  • Teradata related skills is also desirable and could be very helpful in winning the position
  • Ability to work with end users / customers to understand the ETL requirements
  • Ability to quickly learn new business area or technical skills based on project needs
  • Ability to understand performance considerations of ETL requirements - able to debug and correct ETL/Informatica performance issues
  • Ability to design applications taking into consideration data reconciliation (to the source system); query/ETL performance
  • Needs to be able to work independently and not rely on State or other team members to learn ETL/Informatica - need someone at Senior level
  • Experienced in ETL, Informatica, Multiload, Fastload, FastExport, Teradata V15.10 utilities, Microsoft Office, Unix KornShell Scripting, Microsoft SQL server 2008 R2 or above, Ultra Edit tools
  • Ability to be flexible to adapt to changes, supporting continuous improvement, and perform multiple responsibilities as required by the project team
  • Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with programmers, analysts, immediate supervisor, management, system users, operations, other State agencies and the private sector.
  • Performing additional duties that are normally associated with this position, as assigned
