VMWare System Administrator x2
12 months contract

We are in need of 2x VMWare system admins contractors in support of new installs and break fix with the build out of our fiber expansion associated with Project Valkyrie. 

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for managing complex and high risks projects. 
  • Oversees project budgets and schedules. 
  • Manage day-to-day aspects of project scope. 
  • Minimizes project risk. 
  • Creates and manages project work plans and work breakdown structures.

Skillset Required: 

  • Network Operations background knowledge (need more specifics here) 
  • VMware Stacks -vSAN (VMware Virtual SAN) 
  • VMWare Certified Professional (VMware Certified Professional (VCP) in Network Virtualization) (VCP-NV) 

Looking for:

  • Understanding of networking concepts and technologies 
  • Evaluate software and hardware in the private cloud. 
  • Role will require the successful candidate to communicate with both vendors and internal stake holders to ensure the successful delivery of products under evaluation and certification through to the successful production deployment 
  • Has software defined networking knowledge with VMware NSX 
  • Define and analyze system requirements and develop specifications. 
  • Direct the implementation of patch management. 
  • Support the development of procedures and checklists. 
  • Administer, operate, manage virtualized system 
  • Experience with installing, configuring, and troubleshooting NSX environments 
  • Experience with current software development methodologies, with emphasis on software and hardware architecture, and infrastructure design and development 
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, upgrade, and provide solutions to complex hardware/software problems 
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal with great attention to detail 
  • Independent and self-motivated and very thorough worker 
  • Strong organizational skills. 
  • Excellent attention to details. 
  • Abilities to work independently/in collaboration and to manage time effectively
