16 sponsors. 30 speakers. Over 500 attendees. And too many handshakes, new connections and smiles to count. At Engage Sydney, held on 14th March 2024 at the Royal Randwick Racecourse, I had the chance to meet staffing peers, leaders and marketplace partners for the second consecutive time.

Throughout my day at Engage Sydney, I embraced the theme of “Forward Together” by seizing every opportunity to meet, socialize and learn from others while taking in as much knowledge as I could.

Event background:

Bullhorn Engage is a recruitment conference that takes place in Australia and offers personalized experiences and opportunities to network with industry professionals -- including ecosystem partners, agency peers and Bullhorn experts. Attendees get to learn about industry trends, technology innovation and Bullhorn best practices.

This year, the conference began with a ‘women in leadership’ breakfast followed by an opening keynote from Bullhorn’s Senior Vice President of Product Marketing Jeff Neumann. Neumann’s main theme during his keynote was winning new business and attracting talent using AI, as well as how AI will be embedded throughout Bullhorn.

The event was then divided into 2 tracks: strategy and technology. The strategy track explored prominent industry trends and insights, recruitment strategies for 2024 and beyond, the secret to winning new business and insights for growing up business while engaging your team. The tech track showcased best practices for technology solutions across the Bullhorn platform and the marketplace ecosystem.

Session highlights:

Bullhorn Copilot: A suite of AI recruiter capabilities designed to embed the power of artificial intelligence into recruiter workflows. This will help quickly summarize profiles, generate email and SMS messages, pitch candidates for a job, create screening questions and much more.

Bullhorn Sourcebreaker: A new offering from Bullhorn. This tool will empower recruiters to find top talent faster, uncover more job opportunities across existing sources and leverage sales intelligence to identify opportunities before competition.

Bullhorn Onboarding: A tool to support the creation of incredible talent experiences with candidates. Bullhorn Onboarding will help drive real results, remove manual back and forth processes and create a smooth candidate experience that will exceed all expectations.

Other key takeaways: Adaptability is crucial for sustained success. Using analytics and automation will help businesses identify opportunities and become future proof.

In the closing moments, author and the fastest ever Australian to run across Australia, Nedd Brockmann, left an indelible mark on us all as he shared his impassioned tale of running 4,000 km across Australia while raising $1.85 million for charity. His message of resilience, urge to embrace discomfort, give back and live in the moment resonated deeply. As we reflect on his journey, we're reminded that it's through facing challenges directly that we truly unlock our potential and achieve greatness.

Following the closing keynote, it was time for the after party, where attendees got the chance to interact with one another, build and elevate relationships. After an impactful conference, it’s safe to say I’m already looking forward to 2025’s event!
