Diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) has been a key focus at Horizontal from the beginning. As the largest certified minority-owned staffing company in the Twin Cities, we take great pride in being a welcoming home for our employees, clients, candidates and vendors. Environmental sustainability

At Horizontal, our ultimate sustainability goal is to have a net positive environmental impact. In alignment with UN Sustainability Development Goal (SDG) #13 (climate action), SDG #7 (affordable and clean energy) and SDG #12 (responsible consumption and production), we are starting to conduct regular audits of our internal sustainability practices and identifying areas where we can increase efficiency while also reducing waste. This includes evaluating our scope one, two and three emissions, specifically our energy efficiency, waste management and natural resource conservation. These internal efforts coincide with a ‘staffing for sustainability’ business model where we are currently evaluating ways in which we can support the green economy through our staffing services. While we continue to learn as a company, we strive to educate all our employees throughout our journey. This April, we hosted an Earth Day event where we learned about the connection between business and sustainability with the University of Edinburgh's Dr. Sarah Birrell Ivory.
